Have I told you lately that I love my new Camera?

This is my version of Air Buddy, here is Air Bear!! Bear love soccer and will play tirelessly for ages. Years ago his older sisters took some summer soccer lessons so he has loads of soccer balls at his ready disposal. There is no fake out he cannot get past and no air ball he cannot stop!! Anytime you are in the neighborhood, stop on by for a quick game of "bear ball"!!

Num Yummy!!

I treated myself to two beautiful tomatoes the other day. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw the price!! The other tomato is about the same size as the one pictured and I paid over $4.00 for both of them. I cannot wait until I can plant my own tomato plants. And even though that lovely red gem looks good enough to eat, it does not have that wonderful, fresh from the vine scent that home grown has. Wish me luck. I am going to have this little beauty with my lunch. Hopefully it tastes as good as it looks.

This made me smile today. What makes you smile?

I made the earrings for my daughter a while back and kept thinking that there was something missing. After a morning of running around, I figured out just what I have left out, a matching bracelet.

It is starting...

Let me start off by saying that I do not hate all trees, just this one. This behemoth lives in my back yard. Every year that I have lived in this house the tree has tormented me. The first of its little delights are what some might call flowers. They are kinda small, red and a bit sticky if you are dumb enough to try and pick them up by hand like I did the first time I saw them. The second treat this wonderful tree gives to me, are the first set of helicopters. They are soft and a lovely shade of green and also a pain to clean up. And if I do not get them all up, they start to grow in my flower beds. The third gift is hard brown helicopters. These things are mean. They are single sided and come down from the tree with a force that can draw blood. And finally as fall draws summer to a close and I start to like the tree because of the wonderful color of the leaves, as if to spite me it tosses them all to the ground. And as if that was not enough of a reason to dislike this monster, the whole time it has leaves I cannot get a decent picture on my TV due to the tree being in the direct line of site for the satellite. I have had dreams of me attacking the tree with an ax while it laughs at me. Thanks to the size and location of the tree it would cost me more than some would pay for a used car to have it taken down. So, every time we have a thunder storm I make a little prayer for the tree to be hit by lightning and fall in the next door neighbors yard, whom I like almost as much as the tree.

I think Spring is coming...

Stop on over for a cup!!

I got a new camera last weekend and my husband got this!! I must say my only beef with this coffee maker is that it only brews a 8 oz cup. I have learned to step back on my over all consumption over the last week. And my girls totally love the hot chocolate!!

If I sing to you, will you give me cookies?

See how cute I am, please, please, please give me a cookie!!

Momma's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Oompa Loompas!!

Yeah, I said it. Oompa Loompa, you got a problem with that? Green hair, orange skin and probably the most fun I have ever seen my oldest daughter have. This time last year she was gearing up for the middle school's production of Willy Wonka and told me that the director wanted all of the Oompa Loompas to wear wigs. Um, no! Who knows where these nasty green wigs have been and who has had them on? So we compromised and my daughters beautiful blonde hair was colored a wonderful shade of grass green. Permanently colored green… When the hair dresser was done coloring her hair she gave her a haircut and the hair on the floor looked just like grass clippings. The production was a great success and the green hair did not last that long. But it did not totally go away. My daughter spend the whole summer last year with a nice tinge of green to her blonde that made her look like she was molding. And I got the coolest mom of the year award for allowing my daughter to color her hair green. Ain't life grand…?

Lovely shades of bottle green beads, accented with sweet little silver flowers. The clasp is a bypass box design, not only is it effective it is stylish too. If you have small ankles this piece can be worn as an anklet, but it was made as a bracelet. $18

Purple is...

cool, inviting, for me timeless. I have loved the color purple ever since I first laid eyes on Donny's purple sox. These little beauties are far from sox, they are amethyst beads with silver findings and little extra for the sparkle factor.

A Bear's Eye View

This is what greeted mans' best friend this morning. This shot is taken right outside my sliding glass door going into my back yard. The drift is about 2 feet deep, keep in mind Bear's legs are only about 8 inches long. When I opened the slider and offered to let him in the yard to pee this morning he took one look at the snow and went and sat in his crate to await his breakfast. Oh yeah, did I mention that it is still snowing and the wind is blowing at about 25 miles an hour?

Hey City of Rochester, guess what?

I don't totally hate the stretch of Broad Street in front of my work being closed. I thought I would, thought it would be a huge pain in the butt. The commute is the same amount of time and the lack of constant noise is very refreshing. I still have very strong concerns about the city's ability to keep the "Pond" clean and free of the homeless that camp out in the Civic Center Garage. If someone can keep the area clean and free of pests, count me in.

2.15.2010

Oh Wow!!

I love my stuff, but I make it for me. That is the one rule I have for my stuff. I have to want to keep it for myself. And not just keep it, but want to like wear it everyday. Well now thanks to Ms. Renée you can all see my stuff the way I see it. I know I have said it before, but it bears repeating THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Renée!!

Oh Happy Day

Happy St. Valentines' day, this is turning into something like Christmas at the Merritt house hold. I got 3 new books and a new bead for my Pandora bracelet. Two of the books are by one of my new favorite writers, Jodi Picoult. I have read about half a dozen of her 17 book and each one is more amazing then the last. Jodi's ability to flesh out characters is the main reason I keep coming back again and again. The third book I have been holding off buying because I really did not want to shell out the hard cover price. My husband who knows this only too well used it as an opportunity to get me a much wanted gift. Dan Brown's writing style is fast and fact based. The Lost Symbol follows a much loved character, "Robert Langdon", from Brown's other books "Angels & Demons", and "The Da Vinci Code". Both were great reads. Next to my obsession with kid lit, Jodi and Dan are two of my preferred writers.

Made chocolate, chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Now need to go spend some quality time at the gym. Plus the Hubster is making a full Turkey dinner!! Maybe I should just live at the gym and come back here for meals.
