Spreading the love…

My 85 year old neighbor lady stopped in to give her "other family" some very sweet little valentines. I know at the age of 44 that my palate should be more mature and crave things like dark chocolate and Merlo, but I must admit that White Zinfandel is one of my personal favorites. This will be enjoyed this evening with homemade tomato sauce and homemade gnocchi. Yes, feel free to envy me tonight. :-)

Sweet, but a bit Naughty

This is Bear; he is an almost 8 year old male tri color Pembroke Corgi. Bear was the largest puppy in his litter; he picked me out shortly after his eyes opened for the first time. Bear has a very strenuous life style. He keeps all intruders at bay. That is unless they have been invited into the house. Then he jumps on them to make sure they are worthy of admittance. Bear makes sure that the couch in the family room does not fly away, by sleeping on it as much as possible. And he takes personal offence to any toy that makes noise. These are all dealt with in the same manor; it is not pretty and ends with the toy going to the big toy box in the sky shortly after purchase. As for those demon eyes, they are little bonus the breeder never warned me about.

Football is finally over!! Now it is time for Baseball

Momma is looking for her boys in red!! This one in particular... Heres hoping the Sox will have some October ball this year!!

Dear Civic Center Parking Garage

Thank you for the privilege of paying $91.00 a month to park in your garage. Thank you also for the privilege of having the crap scared out of me 3 out of 5 days of the week. Monday, scary homeless people loitering in the garage, Tuesday, more scary homeless people, Wednesday, 4 cop cars and lots of scary homeless people. All of this for the bargain basement price of $91.00 a month. What more could anyone ask for? I think those Red Shirt guys need to do a stint in the morning from 5:00 am till 7:30 am. So those of us who work downtown and pay for the privilege of parking in the Civic Center Garage can get to work safely each morning.

Abby?

Not wanting to be seen, this is what my oldest daughter is willing to do.

Yeah Me

Three weeks ago I started working out 5 times a week. I have not really been dieting, but have been kinda been keeping an eye on what I eat. Trying to stay away from the goodies at work and not giving into temptation at home. Not always easy with two teenage daughters. But I am very proud to say that as of yesterday I have lost 5 pounds!! Being only 5 foot 1, and 208 pounds after Christmas, added to the winter funk. Here's to stripping away the funk and all those unwanted extra pounds!!

Tuesday's

Ah, my 6 week Tuesday break is just about done. For the last 6 weeks my girls have been participating in Ski Club. They leave from school at 2:45 and do not get home until after 10:00 pm. The girls get to spend time with friends and get some fresh air. But what I get is just as good. I get to come home to a quiet home. The only one there is Bear, my 8 year old Corgi. Who is always happy to see me and his only demand when I walk in the door is to pet him. A few blissfull hours of me time. I will miss you Tuesdays... until next year!!

Why? Rochester? Why?

Why? The bridge spanning the Genesee River will be closed for a little over 2 weeks starting this coming Friday the 12th. While I would be all for updates to the bridge, cleaning, adding more support. None of those are the reason it will be closed. It will be closed so that those of us that need to traverse that expanse of Broad Street can get used to the idea that the "ROAD" may soon be turned into a water way. I personally have nothing against water. It is lovely to look at, swim in, drink… But the City does not have the best track record when it comes to keeping its self clean. Who is going to keep this new water way clean? Not to mention who is going to keep the vagrants out of the water? The City cannot keep the vagrants out of the parking garages, how are they going to keep these homeless city dwellers from defecating in the water? I personally do not see how making part of Broad Street a water way is going to bring people to Rochester. The businesses that this will impact are not happy, but the City does not seem to care. This smacks of the "Fast Ferry" all over again. Dear City of Rochester, I am able to think for myself. Stop trying to do it for me. P.S. you can also stop trying to spend my money for me too. I do a very good job at that as well.

A big "thank you"!!
